The festival is held during the full
moon from 14th to 15th October Cadac Luna Calendar (In 2014, The festival from 02/11/2014 to 07/11/2014). Participants wish to express their gratitude to the Gods while
praying for their supporting to supply farmers with good weather and a
bountiful harvest in the coming year.
The most
popular activity is the Ngo Boat race, called “tukngo” in Khmer, which involves
paddling in a wooden canoe, carved from a fine wood into long, diamond shape.
The canoe manages to look both gaudy and fantastic !
