visavietnam.net.vn- Perhaps on the country of
Viet Nam, there is no village or commune that has no market, where it is
crushed at three small shops gathered in convenient places on the waterfronts,
next to the village temples or village roads.
In the coming lightheaded
feeling of Lunar New Year, people usually have to remember old days and old
atmosphere of old markets. It was very special feeling that people go to the
markets from early morning to seek for what they needed to buy for themselves
and their families, including the ancestors.
Mothers and grandmothers and
sisters often bought new clothes and traditional foods to welcome Spring. They
were new brown clothes or white hats or colourful paitings that bring
incredible funs which anyone Vietnamese would miss so much if they can not stay
at homeland this occasion.
In the markets or any place
in these days, people are often seen sticky rice, green beans, green leaves for
covering traditional Vietnamese cakes. It is common seen the flocks of
chickens, ducks and colourful flowers which are very attractive to the eyes of
people.
Recently, the country's
economy is on track to innovation, the Vietnamese markets were changed a lot.
Many supermarkets were built and were divided into several stalls selling all
kinds of internal and external goods. The life in the rural and urban economy
of Vietnam is changing quickly, the quality improved both mentally and
physically.
On this occasion, best
wishes that everyone will get the good life, prosperity and happiness is not
only anyone’s dream but also the aspiration of all Vietnamese. With the
teamwork, consensus of the people of Viet Nam, hopefully 2014 will bring a new
joy and luck to everyone and for all peoples.
Tet or Vietnamese New Year,
is the most important celebration of Vietnamese culture.
The word is a
shortened form of Tết Nguyên Đán which is Sino-Vietnamese for "Feast of
the First Morning of the First Day". It celebrates the arrival of spring
based on the Vietnamese calendar, a lunisolar calendar, which usually has the
date falling between the months of January or February.
There are a lot of
customs practiced during Tết, such as visiting a person's house on the first
day of the new year, ancestral worshipping, wishing New Year's greetings,
giving lucky money to children and elderly people, and opening a shop. Tet is
also an occasion for pilgrims and family reunions. During Tet, Vietnamese visit
their relatives and temples, forgetting about the troubles of the past year and
hoping for a better upcoming year. They consider Tết to be the first day of
spring and the festival is often called Spring festival. (Source: Wikipedia)
