Japanese tourist - Mr. Hajime Mori received a campaign medal for the 25
millionth international visitor to Hanoi in 2013.

Deputy Minister of
Culture, Sports and Tourism – Mr. Ho Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of the
Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) – Ms. Hoang Thi Diep attended
the reception.
Hajime Mori said he was
lucky to be the 2.5 millionth international visitor to Hanoi, especially on the
occasion when Vietnam and Japan are celebrating the 40th anniversary of
bilateral relations.
"I am glad to be
formally welcomed like this and I wish the friendship between the two countries
to further develop," he said. The Japanese visitors in the same group with
Hajime Mori were also presented with flowers.
Mr. To Van Dong, Director
of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that in 2013, Hanoi
was in the top 10 of the best destinations in Asia and the top ten rising
destinations in the world by prestigious institutions in the world.
He also said that by the
end of 2013, Hanoi welcomed 2.5 million international tourists, an increase of
22.9 percent compared with 2012. The total revenue from tourism is estimated at
VND38.5 trillion, up 20.3 percent from last year.
